Entrepreneur's Storehouse - Mindset

Your entrepreneur storehouse will eventually hold a huge array of tools and resources, but none more basic than your own mindset. Everyone encounters times when "getting it done" seems impossible and just "getting started" is a problem. The task just sits there like a big boring rock and few beginning entrepreneurs can delegate unwanted chores.
You need to stock your storehouse with some motivational tools that appeal to you. Sometimes these may be internal spurs - just call to mind your reasons to pursue success - time with the kids, a new car, vacation or home. Warning: don't get lost in a seductive reverie and spend the rest of the day at the car dealership or planning that vacation, but do take a moment to recall your purpose.
There is a place in every entrepreneur's storehouse for motivational tapes and books. These may be religious works or layman's works depending on your own makeup. Sometimes I have found that some simple suggestions on time management or overcoming procrastination are enough to put me in motion. (Both of these issues will merit many posts in the future.)
Brian Tracy's book "Eat that Frog!" has served me well in overcoming inertia. It's a small book of "21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time." Just reading one of the brief chapters usually gives me ideas and motivation.
Another great tool to put into your storehouse is a morning phone call with a couple of hugely successful entrepreneurs. Jim Rivas and Marquiese Jeffrey co-host a call every weekday morning (11:00 A.M. Eastern) that is motivational and, also, full of practical advice. The call is free and open to the public. Since I'm on the West Coast and listen in at 8 A.M., this call and a cup of coffee is a great way to start the day right. Be sure to give it a listen at (212) 812-2800. PIN is 6863 1815.
